Festival of Tables 2008 - Part 2

We had two very nice chocolate tables this year. The centerpiece is a chocolate fountain. All around the table were such as strawberries that were good to dip in the chocolate. Then there were additional chocolates available in abundance to sample. One piece of advice: If you use a chocolate fountain and have never used one before, you may want to try it out first so that you know what to expect of the machine.

The use of pink with the browns seemed to be a common element and the addition of the flowers in this first table was lovely.





Note that except for the fact that the chocolate must be brown, it doesn't matter what else is pink or brown except that you may not too much of one or the other and you will want to pay attention to areas of contrast so you don't have too much pink-on-pink or brown-on-brown.

Also, on the table above, note the light that comes from behind the jars of chocolate somehow. That's pretty cool, but I really like the way the candles cast light on the table below.
